Convivial message: Coca-Cola brings us together

US – Coca-Cola’s iconic 1971 Hilltop advertising campaign has been re-imagined for the 21st century as part of Google’s Re:Brief project.

Using the ‘I’d Like To Buy The World A Coke’ tagline, Google and the creative team behind the original tv advertisement created a mobile app that enables users to send a free can of Coca-Cola to specially made vending machines around the world.

Users can also send a message to the recipient that is automatically translated by the application. When someone collects the free drink, they can record a thank you message using a webcam built into the vending machine.

This convivial campaign is a great example of a brand using technology to engage consumers and help them create connections with others across the globe.
