Switzerland – Alpine ski resort Flims is allowing visitors to stay in an eco-friendly pod hotel designed by Robust Outdoor Brands that gives guests a sense of isolation.
The pods are built with only European wood, and without glue or chemicals. They can house two people, and are heated using electricity.
‘The Pod Hotel is a pilot programme testing the structures in snowy conditions,’ says Karl Muller, manager of Robust Outdoor Brands. ‘We wanted to create something between camping and staying in a hotel, which gave a feeling of isolation.’
This is a perfect example of a separation of work and leisure. For more, look out for our New Sublimity macrotrend, coming soon to our Trends section.
