Drink local: Field Notes' memo to beer-drinkers

16 : 10 : 2013 Chicago : Boozer Evangelist : Jim Coudal

Chicago – Field Notes, the brand of minimalist notebooks, has released its 20th run of limited-edition Field Notes Colors notebooks, this time inspired by the different shades of beers and the message, Drink Local.

The notebooks come in a range of colours that resemble lighter, golden lagers and darker, amber ales. Each set comes in a pack of six – three ales and three lagers – as well as coasters that encourage customers to support their neighbourhood craft brewer.

‘Our seasonal limited editions are made in small batches, using a variety of techniques and in a range of colors, just like small-batch beer,’ Jim Coudal, founder of Coudal Partners and cofounder of Field Notes tells LS:N Global. ‘ It seemed a perfect fit, our hand-crafted memo books created in colors to match the hand-crafted ales and lagers of American brewers and hobbyists. But ultimately, the real reason we chose the theme is…we like beer.’

The growing market for craft beers has seen men becoming evangelists for home-grown hops. For more on the Save our Boozers movement, read our Re-con Man macrotrend and our Tribe profile of Boozer Evangelist, Neil Taylor.
