Chicago – Canadian artists Wayne Garrett and Caitlind r.c Brown have installed an interactive cloud made from more than 15,000 light bulbs on the ceiling of a Chicago bar.
The Cloud Ceiling installation, which spans the length of the Progress Bar in Boystown in Chicago, is fitted with motion sensors that are activated whenever patrons pass underneath. As customers pass along the bar, the sensors trigger lights inside the installation that map out their journey throughout the space.
‘We created the Progress Bar iteration as a resilient, interactive system that would allow Cloud to subtly engage an entire room of people in a mysterious and brilliant way,’ the artists say on their website.
