Simple touch: Intuitive entertainment with Fan TV

11 : 06 : 2013 Fuseproject : Home Entertainment : Emotional Technology

London – A new Fan TV system by design studio Fuseproject radically simplifies the home entertainment experience.

Instead of multiple remote control units and a profusion of channels, Fan TV condenses everything into a Zen-inspired centrepiece that connects to a comprehensive film and tv database. The remote control and box, in the shape of rounded black pebbles, fit together using magnets. The remote unit has no buttons, but features a white surface that responds to touch, with users tapping and swiping to change programmes.

We have been tracking the rise of Emotional Technology, which offers elegant, subtle interfaces that appeal to people’s desire for intuitive devices. Fan TV presents a quieter aesthetic that reduces the stress, confusion and clutter of everyday life.
