Lighting rods: Vibia customers meet their Match

27 : 03 : 2013 Flexible : Adjustable : Meritxell

Spain – Barcelona-based Vibia has created a flexible collection of lights that users can reconfigure to their own tastes.

Consumers are becoming more active, and increasingly want to be involved in the design process. In response, brands are creating products that bend and flex and which are customisable, as we reported in our Kaizen Living design direction.

The new lighting collection, Match, designed by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal for Vibia, comprises a series of LEDs attached to steel rods. The flexible rods can be re-arranged into different patterns and designs, creating either 2D or 3D looks.

With hundreds of possible configurations, the lights can be adjusted to suit any requirement, ensuring that consumers can be actively involved in their aesthetic.
