Print shop: Beirut store supports maker culture

08 : 01 : 2013 Maker Culture : SparkFun : Geek Express

Beirut – Located in Beirut Digital District, the new technology hub in Lebanon’s capital, Geek Express, is a concept store with a product range aimed at digital artists and product designers.

3D printing enthusiasts will find MakerBot printers for sale as well as an area to buy and print limited-edition objects. Arduino microcontrollers and Sparkfun electronics are available for artists and others interested in adding human-digital interaction to their creations. The space also hosts workshops to help people discover maker culture.

We have seen how online communities and hacker spaces have emerged to support a new 3DIY Culture in places such as Berlin and the US. Stores are a more recent development, especially in the Middle East.
