Saltillo, Mexico – Creative agency Anagrama has designed the branding for new restaurant El Montero, which highlights its desert location through its garden design details and its regionally sourced ingredients.
The revivalist branding for El Montero features understated graphics and rustic materials to represent down-to-earth cooking and a homely dining experience. Bottle and jar labels are illustrated with etchings of foxes, feathers and rabbits, while paperware is embossed with simple check patterns and the restaurant’s logo. A contemporary touch is introduced through bright yellow information labels on packaging and produce.
The main colour palette consists of brown, white and gold shades, while the interior decoration reflects the colonial building. Details from contemporary design, such as the Tom Dixon lampshades and Konstantin Grcic chairs, contrast with rustic lodge references such as antlers and traditional wall lights.
