London – The first prototype of the Yo! Home, the latest creation by Simon Woodroffe of Yo! Sushi and Yotel, is on display this week at 100% Design .
The Yo! Home is a flexible living concept that equips an 80-square metre flat with a wide range of functions. The prototype can be configured into a master bedroom suite, a sunken sitting room, a cinema, a dining room, an office, a kitchen and more.
Woodroffe drew inspiration from his years as a stage designer for performers such as Rod Stewart and Ozzie Osbourne. ‘Much of what I did was mechanical – the stages moved, opened, levitated and had Ozzie appear on a hand over the audience,’ says Woodroffe. ‘This is what I have drawn on to create my long-term vision for Yo! Home.’
