Zeeland, Michigan – Bleisure workers can now mix their business and leisure pursuits in comfort. Furniture brand Herman Miller, maker of the famous ‘Aeron’ chair, will unveil its new ‘Setu’ model next week at the NeoCon furniture and interiors trade fair in Chicago.
The chair, designed by Berlin firm Studio 7.5, is made for use beyond the office desk – perfect for the modern, increasingly nomadic worker. Designers studied the movements of workers in an office environment and shaped the chair around their various needs, rather than letting the chair dictate its usage. Design-savvy Bleisure workers will be particularly pleased to note that the ‘Setu’ chair is reminiscent of Charles and Ray Eames’s classic professional designs.
With more ‘fourth spaces’ emerging, in which Bleisure professionals can take care of their blurred business and leisure needs, office furniture design is now readjusting to suit this contemporary form of work – and reducing a lot of sore behinds.
