Belgium – Architects Nilsson Pflugfelder have created a mobile modular structure that can be reconfigured to become a workspace, artist’s residence, archive or meeting area.
Verbandkammer is constructed from a combination of 40 component types and is ‘constantly in the making’, according to the designers. Consisting of hackable elements, Verbandkammer can be adapted to suit the needs of whoever is in residence.
Installed as part of the Manifesta 9 Parallel Events art show in Genk, the structure will mutate and migrate throughout the building to become a new framework for growth, production and documentation.
This is a great example of a contemporary workspace catering for the always-on consumer. For more information on the blurring of business and leisure, read our Bleisure macrotrend.
