Schijndel, Holland – Rotterdam-based architecture practice MVRDV has begun construction on a building called the Glass Farm, which will have a printed glass façade, illustrating local farmhouses from the area.
The building will house restaurants, shops, offices and also a wellness centre. The surface of the building will be translucent in places so that passers by can see inside.
This is a great trompe l’oeil design, which allows the building to chime with the local area, and yet achieves an angular, contemporary aesthetic. For another building which draws visitors with an intriguing exterior, read our innovate on the Galleria Centercity.
