Rip it up: Anarchic show at the cutting edge

19 : 09 : 2011 Denim : Bleach : Rebellion

London – Womenswear duo Marques’Almeida have presented a grungy, anarchic collection as part of the Fashion East show at London Fashion Week.

The Portuguese designers showed rough, deconstructed denims conveying a youthful, rebellious aesthetic. Frayed edges and bleached fabrics featured heavily, as did denim bottoms with disconnected cuffs that appeared to have been ripped through the middle.

In our Anarconomy Decade macro trend, LS:N Global noted the rise of revolutionary Millennials. Designers are responding to this anarchic mindset by adopting a new, rebellious approach.

Look out for further coverage of London Fashion Week in the coming days.
