Catalina by Moullinex

Munich – German disco house act Moullinex has released a video made using hacked Microsoft Kinect technology for their new song, Catalina.

Programmers Luis Clara Gomes and Luis Calçada created the video from 3D visual data captured by the hacked Kinect. The footage, which was produced with point mapping, was then imported into animation package Cinema 4D using a specially written script.

The resulting video can be viewed in 3D using red and green glasses.

Moullinex’s video is a good example of individuals using hacked technology in new and unexpected ways, as LS:N Global will explore further in our forthcoming Anarconomy Decade macro trend report.
