The best of 2010: The top three Sport & Leisure Seeds of the year

Sweden, UK and USA Cycling, skiing, and winning a car – surely three of the most fun leisure activities ever? At the very least, these are the bases for my choices of the best leisure Seeds from 2010.

To those who say the Swedish capital isn’t much fun, try this: an app that turned Stockholm into a reality game. Every day for a week, players chased a virtual Mini around Södermalm, Kungsholmen and Gamla Stan. And the winner won a real car.

We’re big fans of Rapha at LS:N Global. Read our Innovate article to find out how the brand has created instant heritage. This Seed is about how its cycling moisturiser reaches the parts some moisturisers do not reach. That is, according to one of my colleagues anyway.

And as the world becomes a game – as we’ll explore at the spring/summer Trend Briefing on Ubiquitous Gaming Culture – my favourite leisure is this app that turns a ski resort in Colorado into a game. Awesome.

Every day from 20 December until the end of the year, the LS:N Global team is choosing its favourite stories from 2010. We will resume normal service on Tuesday 4 January 2011.
