Hokkaido, Japan – Japanese studio Jun Igarashi Architects has completed the House of Trough, an emotional home for a couple.
The calm interior contrasts with the location, next to an iron factory. The architects’ aim was to close the home to the outside with minimal use of windows and maximum use of open spaces, white walls and stripped back wood. Semi-translucent curtains separate the two rooms, while lamps drop down from the ceiling.
LS:N Global explores in our Full of Grace Inspire how tactile materials and simple design offer elements of calm and tranquillity.
