Valencia – A modernist white concrete house protrudes from a Spanish mountain. House on the Castle Mountainside is a project by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos. The aim was to design a house that integrates with the environment. ‘It is conceived as a piece placed on the ground, joining the gap,’ explains lead architect Fran Silvestre.
The house offers a Super Minimal simplicity. Its smooth, clean-cut angles, both inside and outside the building, set it apart from its textured, historic surroundings. The project brings a new lease of life to the small valley of Ayora. For another example of a building that is integrated with its environment, read our Seed report on the Klima Hotel.
