Vienna – The public was given the chance earlier this month to make their mark on a wooden bench in the city’s Hernals district. Everybody’s Bench, designed by Patrick Hubmann, was part of Milan-based collective Esterni’s contribution to Vienna Design Week.
Members of the public were encouraged to extend the bench along Palffygasse. A Public Tools workstation enabled passers-by to use tools for the design and construction of the bench. The aim was for the bench to work as a new platform for new ideas, with people able to sit, relax, rest or organise presentations.
This is a great example of how live events can bring the community together. For more details read our Conviviality Culture report.
