Paris – Paris fashion week saw Sarah Burton produce her first collection as creative director for Alexander Mcqueen.
Exhibiting an altogether more feminine set of designs, Burton took the design direction away from the darker side to which we have become accustomed with Mcqueen.
Taking visual cues from the Rurban and Primitivism aesthetics, the collection was inspired by nature and had a pagan feel. But the dresses, although created out of butterflies, wheat sheaths and pheasant feathers, felt luxurious with their couture elements including full skirts and structured bodice silhouettes.
