Lisbon – Parents in the city now have a place to catch up with friends over a coffee while their children enjoy toys and books in the playroom.
The Petit Cabanon Café in Parque das Nações in Lisbon is a ‘parent and child café’. But Ternullomelo Architects has created an interior that, instead of feeling like a nursery, makes parents feel comfortable too. The café features warm lighting and materials, including pinewood laminate flooring, and good acoustics. In the children’s world, walls, floor and ceiling are yellow and furniture is scaled to their size.
As explored in a recent micro trend on Kidult Spaces, this is not the last we will see of child- and parent-friendly facilities.
