Manchester – Consumers were able to find out the stories behind donations given to an Oxfam shop in Manchester.
Showcased at this year’s Future Everything digital arts festival, RememberMe was a collaboration between the international charity Oxfam and Tales of Things and Electronic Memory, a project that encourages the public to record their social and community history.
When people gave clothes or other items to Oxfam, their stories about each item was recorded. Each audio clip was linked to an RFID tag or a QR code on the relevant item so that customers with smartphones could listen to the narrative.
