Back to basics: exhibition highlights design simplicity

London – An exhibition will reflect the return to basics in design.

New Simplicity showcases everyday items including a chair designed by Jasper Morrison, a minimal wallet by David Sutton and an iPhone/iPad cable manager by Jochem Faudet.

With reference to the ongoing economic uncertainty, the designs are simple, practical or affordable.

‘Where the one-off limited edition once prevailed, designers and consumers are now searching for simplicity with quality. There is a desire to create and own products that are enduring, functional and simple,’ Nuno Coelho, curator of the exhibition explains.

The exhibition will run until 8 August in London’s Brompton Design District.
