San Francisco – Industrial designer Yves Béhar is curating his first exhibition at which he will examine how consumers are personalising design in the age of mass production.
‘TechnoCRAFT: Hackers, Modders, Fabbers, Tweakers and Design in the Age of Individuality’ will look at collaborative design using social networking and open source technology.
Held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco between July 10 and October 3, the exhibition will look at six areas, including crowdsourcing, platforms and hacks. One exhibit includes Marijn van der Poll’s Do Hit Chair for Droog. To complete the piece, consumers are invited to shape the metal cube by hitting it with a hammer.
