Piece of cake: Baker opts for new aesthetic

23.06.2010 Mexico : Central America : Patisserie

San Pedro, Mexico – A new pâtisserie offering French delicacies features a pared-down interior. French pastries and macaroons in red, blue and yellow contrast the all white space.

Theurel & Thomas, the first pâtisserie in Mexico specialising in French macaroons, was rebranded by design agency Anagrama.

With a hint of Blingamalism, the pared-down approach to luxury aesthetics has emerged in response to the recession. These aesthetics are ideal for the new luxury consumer who prefers to enjoy their lifestyle in a much less visible manner.
