Sunday chill

29 : 03 : 2017 New York : Beauty Futures : Wellness

New York – Sundays is a new non-toxic, vegan nail salon that taps into the rise of wellness.

  • The salon positions itself as promoting ‘confidence, wellness and simplicity’
  • Founder Amy Ling Lin established Sundays to counteract the toxic environment in regular nail salons

Located in Manhattan’s NoMad neighbourhood, the salon has been established to protect and promote customers’ health through its use of carcinogen-free products and the option of audio-guided meditation sessions during nail treatments. All of the nailcare products used are made in-house to ensure that they are non-toxic, cruelty-free and vegan.

The environment in the salon has been tailored to promote tranquillity, with nail technicians using quick-dry drops rather than noisy driers. Customers are invited to make use of the Zen studio, situated above the salon, where they can take part in meditation classes, small-group chats with wellness experts and learn how to make their own beauty products.

‘Nail care is often about much more than a manicure,’ founder Amy Ling Lin tells Vogue. ‘We wanted clients to unwind and recharge.’

The Big Picture

Wellness is no longer only connected with the fitness industry, but is expanding into other sectors including beauty. For more, look out for Total Beauty in our forthcoming 2017 Beauty Futures report.
