Adventure trail: Tintin goes on tour

London – Comic book pages come to life with a new series of tour programmes organised by travel company On The Go.

Inspired by the fictional world adventurer Tintin, the Destination Tintin tours will take travellers to India, Jordan and Egypt – countries in which the intrepid boy journalist, his dog Snowy and his friend Captain Haddock chased all manner of adversaries. Weekend trips to Brussels, where Tintin author Hergé lived and worked, begin in July.

In addition, many of the tours are led by Tintinologists – including Michael Farr, author of Tintin: The Complete Companion – who offer an expert perspective on Hergé’s meticulous research into these destinations.

Immersing travellers not only in the culture and history of a country, but also into the world of pop culture, Destination Tintin effectively responds to consumers’ desire to broaden their minds when on holiday.
