Clerkenwell Design Week 2015 – DIY knowledge-sharing platform Fixperts has partnered with Benchmark Furniture to invite graduates to spend a year in the craft powerhouse’s workshop.

LS:N interview with Fixperts at Clerkenwell Design Week discussing their residency in partnership with Benchmark Furniture, London

Clerkenwell Design Week 2015 – DIY knowledge-sharing platform Fixperts has partnered with Benchmark Furniture to invite graduates to spend a year in the craft powerhouse’s workshop.

  • Beginning in September, the Fixperts Residency, in partnership with Benchmark Furniture, offers graduates the opportunity to join the manufacturing company for a one-year placement in Berkshire
  • Aligned to a master craftsman, the Fixperts resident will be exposed to all aspects of the business, to further develop their imagination and skills

‘It’ll be a big sharing of technical and design expertise. I hope that because we are professional makers, we can raise the standard of Fixperting, as we have all the equipment and machinery to do so,’ says Sean Sutcliffe, co-founder of Benchmark Furniture.

Bridging the gap between graduates and the industry, the Fixperts Residency aims to provide sustainability within the crafts industry. By sharing their values with future generations of designers and makers they hope to be a driving force for change.

‘The collaboration between Fixperts and Benchmark Furniture was a symbiotic partnership, which came about quite organically,’ Daniel Charny, co-founder of Fixperts, tells LS:N Global.
