Bauhaus University, Weimar – A new lamp designed to make people concentrate is among the latest products created to help us switch off from our phones.
Designed by Weng Xinyu, the Balance lamp switches on when a phone is placed in its frame and turns itself off when the phone is removed. Flitting between tasks and being distracted by our phones is a pervasive problem for contemporary consumers. With this lamp, whether working or reading a book, the design’s prescriptive functionality removes that temptation.
