UK – Let It Fly, a new interactive website from Virgin Atlantic, delivers tailored holiday destinations based on what’s in your suitcase.
Pack your virtual case with a range of items and let Virgin’s algorithm do the rest. Swap a Havana hat for a snorkel, an SLR for GoPro, or G-Shock for FitBit, and see where you could be jetting off to.
With some technical wizardry, in collaboration with digital agency adam&eveDDB and Acne Production, the website generates a personalised inspirational video for each visitor. Along with a recommended destination, the site scours social media for trending hotspots that relate to your trip and compiles a brief To Do list with links to Google Maps.
Holidaymakers are not just on the look-out for great deals, but also want to be inspired to discover and seek out new experiences. With so many destinations tempting consumers to part with their cash, they are open to recommendations delivered in unlikely yet compelling ways.
