Sweden – Architects Jägnefält Milton have designed a woodland refuge based on the shape of a giant leaf.
The Forest Pavilion is an innovative yet simple structure that provides shelter from the elements and a space to find peace among Sweden’s beechwood forests.
It features a wooden platform with a patterned parquet floor, a lead roof supported by a single column and a zigzagged cable support – all anchored in place using a large boulder. A waterproof polyurethane cover can then be wrapped around the structure, providing shelter from the wind and any wild animals who might be curious about the new construction.
The design, created in collaboration with engineering firm Arup, remains a concept at the moment, but Jägnefält Milton say they are looking for a suitable site and investor.
