Jakarta – Three Buns is a new burger joint housed in a hangar like building in Senopati, the city’s foodie hotspot.
The high, transparent roof makes the space bright and airy, and the graffitied concrete walls complement the wood accents and green plants in every corner, giving off a concrete jungle vibe.
Three Buns provides a calm oasis away from the extreme heat in a city filled with high-rise buildings, traffic and smog. The rattan chairs and wooden platforms provide outdoor-like seating, giving the illusion that Three Buns is both inside and outside. The greenery and sunlight lend to the feeling of being in a jungle, away from any bustle. The menu by English chef Adam Penney features burgers with an Indonesian twist and payments are made at a camper van, heightening the outdoors aesthetic.
Nature escapes are popping up in cities, providing a green reprieve away from the intensity of urban living. For more, read our Greentopias microtrend.
