Paris – Tom Dixon has brought his signature material, brass, to Éclectic, a new restaurant in Paris, and juxtaposed it with the concrete, industrial building to create a raw yet warm interior.
Éclectic is located in the Beaugrenelle Centre, an old concrete shopping mall that opened in the 1970s. Dixon embraced the concrete shell and then added warmth to the space with brass lighting fixtures and furniture, as well as marble and leather details.
‘Dixon began with the idea of making the restaurant an integral part of its modernist surroundings,’ says a statement from Éclectic. ‘The technical areas of the building are exposed for maximum space, and concrete – the superstar of Brutalism – is exploited in every possible texture.’
The interior’s mixture of high and low materials and the geometrical forms all reference our Geo Luxe design direction.
