Paris – A French wine retailer has launched a line of samples in test tubes. Part of an attempt by the wine industry to attract younger consumers, WineSide aims to help people to try before they buy, especially for more expensive bottles.
The engineered glass tubes, which can be personalised, have screw tops that help to protect the wine’s flavour. The collection represents a range of labels and producers and is available individually or by the box. For consumers new to the world of wine, WineSide samples can provide an introduction to a variety, year or region. As we have seen previously, wine producers are seeking new ways to reach younger, inexperienced consumers, albeit at the expense of heritage.
