Thought process: Furniture manufacturing turns transparent

Cologne – Furniture company E15 has put the stages of manufacturing and production – normally part of the behind-the-scenes process – in the spotlight at international home interiors design fair IMM Cologne.

The ‘Houdini’ chair by Stefan Diez was presented in terms of its production process, demonstrating the craftsmanship behind the piece, and communicating its particular quality and value to consumers.

E15 also displayed ‘London’ and ‘Anna’, two new tables by Philipp Mainzer, whose minimalist design – each table is reduced to its essence in form and material – echoed the sober, post-recession sentiment we have seen in the last year.
