Fairy tale: Fashion collection has haunting look
New York – Fashion designers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters of Chicago-based label Creatures of the Wind have created a collection inspired by the supernatural tales of 17th-century Scottish book The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns and Fairies by Robert Kirk.
The Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, shown at New York Fashion Week, featured an eclectic mix of leathers, silks, laces, tweeds and hand-embroidered pieces evoking a mythical and mystical mood.
The collection is a great example of the aesthetics evident in our Revivalism trend and our Hauntology design direction.
