The Raf Simons collection for Kvadrat brings a new tactility to home textiles using influences from high-end fashion materials. Originally trained as an industrial designer, Simons is inspired by contemporary art and the work of mid-century furniture designers. The collection re-imagines modernist designs with a diverse palette of tones, weaves and textures.

‘My task is partly to respect and partly to innovate, to change some things in order to keep certain qualities that I think are still relevant and beautiful,’ Simons tells The Wall Street Journal.

The creative range consists of furniture, cushions and throws. Bouclé weaves, velvets, polyester, fur and pure mohair are combined with rich and vibrant hues, from raspberry pink and iris blue to neutral shades and earthy tones. Both Simons’ and Kvadrat’s aesthetics are based on colour, simplicity and innovation.
