Casa Cook is a luxury hotel on the Greek island of Rhodes that caters for travellers and holidaymakers seeking a more authentic experience abroad.

In recent years more young people in search of comfort and cultural immersion abroad have turned to home-share companies such as Airbnb, OneFineStay and boutique hostels, instead of the hotel franchises favoured by their parents’ generation.

Recognising this shift, Casa Cook aims to be a home from home offering a more relaxed environment than its all-inclusive alternative. No two rooms are the same, and all feature rustic furnishings and a minimalist design that is a far cry from Thomas Cook hotels.

There is also a greater emphasis on experience with the social atmosphere of a hostel through more communal spaces and group fitness and yoga classes. Thomas Cook plans to add three more Casa Cook hotels by summer 2017.

The Big Picture

When it comes to travel, people increasingly trust the opinions of peers over brands. For more on how social travel planner Trip Republic provides holiday inspiration by letting users browse through other people’s travel itineraries, see our Big Idea.
