Spitsbergen, Norway – Some 660 miles from the North Pole, on the island of Spitsbergen, is the world’s most northern skate ramp. Skateboard and apparel company Element sent one of its team skaters, Karsten Kleppan, and a crew to face the forces of nature in below-freezing temperatures.
The crew headed to the abandoned coal mining settlement of Pyramiden, armed with skateboards and Element’s new Wolfeboro jacket. Kleppan skated in abandoned buildings and on a ramp on the empty streets of the world’s northernmost ghost town.
