ÁViva México!: Branding eschews stereotypes for style

10 : 10 : 2013 Label : Doméstico : Pared Back

Mexico City – Doméstico is a Mexican saloon – minus the moustaches, sombreros and mariachi bands. To shy away from the stereotypical vision of a Mexican cantina, Doméstico enlisted design studio Manifiesto Futura to create a brand identity that was both minimalist and modern.

The bar makes its own speciality Mexican liquor: tequila, mezcal, raicilla, sotol, charanda and pulque. The label for each drink is pared back, focusing on an emblem design that is stark and will make consumers immediately aware that it is the Doméstico brand.
