London– Design studio Established & Sons collaborated with British designer Faye Toogood for the London Design Festival to create an interactive light installation at its East London showroom.
The installation, called The Conductor, enables visitors to create their own light show. The set-up includes a giant circuit board of cast resin switches and 160 fluorescent light bulbs connected to a bundle of wires. Visitors act as conductors that complete the circuit between the lights and the switches. Each switch also creates a sound when flicked, turning the installation into an audio, as well as a visual, experience.
‘Faye’s interactive creation [is] an immersive and inspiring visual experience, with light and colour dancing across the eyes,’ says Maurizio Mussati, CEO of Established & Sons. ‘I recommend bringing a pair of sunglasses.’
The industrial aesthetic lends a dystopian, futuristic feel to the installation, that is also evident in our Futurist Montage design direction.

The Conductor is on display at Established & Sons until 22 September.
