New York – There are no shortage of ice cream parlours in Brooklyn, but OddFellows Co wants to stand out from the crowd with its unique flavour combinations.
The menu features unusual pairings, such as beets, goat’s cheese and pistachio, caramel chorizo, and rose raspberry with pink peppercorn. The inspiration came from co-owner Holiday Kumar’s strange pregnancy cravings, which included salty ice cream. Her friend Sam Mason just happened to be a chef and spent time working at WD-50, a Manhattan restaurant known for its use of molecular gastronomy and experimental ingredients. He satisfied her cravings, and together with her husband, they decided to unleash the unusual flavour combinations on the people of Brooklyn.
LS:N Global has noted an increasing range of strange flavour combinations. To learn more, book a place at our forthcoming Food and Drink Futures Forum.
