Sweden – Swedish company Superfront provides luxury hacks on Ikea classics to help consumers liven up their home furniture.
The company offers front sections, handles and legs for all of Ikea’s existing cabinet bases, for those interested in design, and who believe good taste is not synonymous with high prices. The concept is designed to be economically and environmentally smart and all products are made in Sweden in Uppland, Småland and Dalarna.
Ikea is no stranger to being hacked. The company enlisted a group of French designers to ‘hack’ its furniture and craft new objects last year as part of its Design Tour 2012. The hacks featured in an exhibition entitled In the Mood for Ikea, which included work from 10 French designers who were let loose in Ikea’s textiles aisle.
