Miyazaki, Japan – Tsukano Architect Office has created a house surrounded by white walls, creating a sublime and harmonised environment.
In these hectic and hyper-connected times, consumers are looking for an escape and are turning to brands that offer them downtime, as reported in our The New Sublimity.
House T has two storeys and its façade is almost entirely constructed with white walls. Sunlight can reach the courtyard and there is one window, bringing light and warmth. The house has been designed so that the noisy roads and tall buildings, which are common in southern Japan, are shut out.
The interior is sophisticated and pared-down, comprising exposed concrete, timber and white plaster. The upstairs and downstairs floor plans are almost identical.
With the white walls, simple interior and sunshine from the courtyard softly coming through, the house is a haven and a place of tranquillity.
