Miami Beach – Fabrica, Benetton’s communications research centre, has designed a customised set of store display fittings for the brand’s Miami flagship United Colors of Benetton store.
For the project, Table in Wonderland, the designers drew inspiration from local architecture. Miami Beach is famed for its Art Deco buildings in seaside pastel shades. The Benetton store borrows from this colour palette, while using more contemporary geometric forms for its furniture and display fittings.
The design is a geometric take on our Sweet Nostalgia design direction. It features candy colours and fantastical themes, but without the Rococo embellishments we have seen elsewhere.
Fabrica is based in Treviso, Italy. Like the lifestyle brand projects we featured in our Lab Talk microtrend, the studio borrows Silicon Valley language to describe itself as an ‘applied creativity laboratory’ and ‘talent incubator’.
