Karlsruhe – Zieharsofika, a new collection of benches and stools by German designer Meike Harde, embraces a rough, cobbled-together look that is at once industrial and upbeat.
Starting with angular bases in natural light wood, Harde has bundled brightly coloured foam and elastic bands together in playful, bulging shapes. With a low-tech, DIY feel but using industrial materials, the collection reflects Harde’s training in industrial and product design.
The Zieharsofika collection is a great example of the rise of post-industrial craft production. We noted this trend most recently in our London Design Festival Review.
