London – Indie band Kotki Dwa has collaborated with the National Trust to release its new album, Staycations.
To produce the album, Kotki Dwa travelled across the UK, recording songs at various National Trust sites, including Sutton House in Hackney and Borrowdale in the Lake District.
The finished album is presented in a striped paper bag similar to those found in National Trust gift shops, and contains 11 postcards. The cards feature photographs of the locations in which songs were recorded on one side, and the lyrics on the other.
The Staycations album packaging is a welcome variation on the standard format used for most physical musical releases. For more innovative examples of packaging, read LS:N Global’s Packaging Futures report, available from The Future Laboratory shop.
