UK – Mimi Zou, a graduate of the Royal College of Art’s Innovation Design Engineering course, has created IRIS, a camera that you can control with your eye.
Using biometric technology, the camera tracks the user’s eye movement. The person can zoom in and out by squinting and can take photographs by blinking.
IRIS can identify users’ unique iris signatures, automatically loading their preferred settings whenever they use it. When a photograph is taken, it will recognise the eyes of the people in the image and tag them appropriately.
‘By recognising who we are, IRIS is able to characterise itself to fit the user,’ explains Zou. ‘As it experiences more users, it will be able to learn more about human behaviour, and make intelligent and functional decisions.’
