South Korea – Seoul-based designer Seung-Yong Song has created a collection of furniture called Dami, which treats geometric frameworks with a softer, more human approach.
Inspired by the structure of traditional Korean grilles, the exposed grid-like pieces are made using two new eco-friendly materials called Valchromat and CNC. Light and durable, these materials help to make the classic shapes more adaptable in a modern home environment.
The Dami collection is a great example of the stripped-back approach to decorative furniture design noted in our Crafted Geometry design direction. Find out more by reading our Milan 2012: Part 2 show report.
