London – London College of Fashion student Christina Hamilton showed her collection of multifunctional bags for the fashionable urban cyclist at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, London Fashion Week’s independent showcase of new designers.
‘In today’s society the bicycle has replaced the horse,’ says Hamilton, adding that her collection is ‘designed to fit a bike in the same way a saddle fits a horse’. Hamilton, who is trained in saddlery, used harness-making techniques to make the collection. The bags are British oak-tanned and waxed, highly durable and resistant to dirt and water.
