New York – Luxury department store Barneys New York has opened an interactive café called Genes@co-op in its Madison Avenue flagship store.
The café features one long table that seats 30 people. On the table’s surface is a big digital touchscreen that enables customers to read the menu, order food and browse through articles and content from the Barneys alternative luxury site The Window. The Genes@Co-op also offers a takeaway service from a marble counter.
